The Consulate General of the Republic of Türkiye in Sydney warmly welcomes Australians and other nationals wishing to visit Türkiye for business or tourism purposes, or those who seek education opportunities in Türkiye.

General information about Turkish visa

You are kindly advised to have a travel document/passport valid for at least 6 months as from the date of your arrival in Türkiye.

Visa applicants can apply to the Turkish visa through www.evisa.gov.tr or www.visa.gov.tr

Those websites are the only official websites to apply to the Turkish visa. If you come across any other website for obtaining the Turkish Visa, please do not put any information and especially any payment information, otherwise you may be a victim of FRAUD.

If you will not leave the transit lounge at the airport you are not required to have transit visa.

Foreigners who are travelling to Türkiye by cruises are allowed to enter Türkiye without visa for a maximum period of 72 hours, with the permission given by the local security authorities.

In all types of visa applications, web sites or Turkish consular offices may issue visas with a maximum duration of stay of 90 days. The foreigners who wish to stay longer than 90 days in Türkiye, should apply for “Short Term Residence Permit” at the Provincial Directorate of Migration Administration in order to extend their residence.
